Resumption of Limitation Periods and Time Periods

As you may be aware, limitation periods established in statutes, regulations, rules, by-laws, or orders of the Government of Ontario and time periods in proceedings (with certain exceptions) were suspended until September 11, 2020 under s.7.1 of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, due to the current pandemic.

It is important to note that this suspension has now come to an end. Effective September 14, 2020, the limitation periods and time periods are resuming.

We encourage you to contact a legal professional should you have any questions or concerns pertaining to your matter.
