" Equitable resolutions for children. "
Family law has become Chantel’s passion because through it she can help people progress beyond very complex and difficult circumstances to a resolution which benefits both them and their children. Chantel deals with a wide variety of issues including custody and access, child and spousal support, division of property as well as divorce and domestic contract, but her passion is to represent children which occupies the vast majority of her time. Chantel also offers mediation services, with a main focus on parenting mediation, and she is a trained collaborative family law professional which is an alternative and exciting path to resolution.
Chantel graduated from Law School at the University of Windsor in 1999 and was called to the Bar in February 2001. For ten years she practised family and criminal law, and she has been a panel member with the Office of the Children's Lawyer since 2006. She has extensive experience representing clients in the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice. In January 2010 she opened Carvallo Family Law in downtown Ottawa where she focused exclusively on meeting the needs of families who were seeking an equitable solution for their current problems. In January 2013 she joined Sicotte Guilbault Professional Corporation where she is able to specialize even more in her chosen area of Law, representing the rights of children within family law.
